The Team Behind Phoenix and Owl
Founded in 2015 by filmmaker and writer Jessica Denyschen, Phoenix and Owl began as a production house committed to championing female-led storytelling and high-impact visual media.
In 2021, the studio expanded to include Mia van Schalkwyk, a digital design specialist and multimedia artist with a strong foundation in visual arts. Together, Jess and Mia form a highly creative and strategically aligned team — blending strong production values, artistic vision, and design expertise.
Their work is collaborative, thoughtful, and distinctly human — combining structured problem-solving with imaginative flair to bring stories to life across film, digital, and design platforms.
